Actor Chris Pratt got the chance to meet up with an old friend on Sunday and attend church with him before ending the day with a meal at Southern Culture Kitchen in Greenville.
Known for Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, and the sitcom Parks and Recreation, Pratt is the relentless church Reverend John Gray. Gray offered to drive Pratt to Greenville for service, but Pratt insisted on driving to Greenville himself.
“Chris didn’t ask for anything special because of who he is,” said Gray.

A late reservation allowed us to seat our party of 13 near the fireplace in the Southern Culture Kitchen. Pratt, Gray, and their party mingled with other patrons as Sundays of friendship, church, and dining ended.

“I ate shrimp and grits and Chris ate a little bit of everything,” said Gray. “We had the chef make the ribs and he loved it.”
