When ordering delivery, Postmates, Uber Eats and other apps Find out where your favorite local restaurants are. Then you can compare which services have the lowest shipping rates or special deals with the lowest overall prices.
Two apps can put an end to that cycle. FoodBoss (for Android and iOS) and MealMe (for iOS) let you compare delivery time estimates and costs without constantly switching between different platforms.
Here’s what you need to know about these two apps.
food boss
FoodBoss (including a browser version) launched in 2017 and aggregates third-party delivery services like UberEats, Postmates, EatStreet and Delivery.com into one location. Available in over 80 metropolitan areas nationwide, including Atlanta, Chicago, and New York City.
Go to the web version of FoodBoss and enter your address to see a list of restaurants, the delivery services they partner with, and an estimated total cost (including delivery charges, surge prices, service charges and taxes) . , and estimated delivery time. From there, you can filter results based on dish type, fastest delivery time, or lowest total price.
meal me
MealMe’s business has changed in recent years, but the company still has an app for ordering and comparing food. Compare prices from delivery services like DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, Postmates, Caviar, Waitr, Delivery.com, Eatstreet and more. According to co-founder Matt Bouchner, this is only available on iOS, but he plans to roll it out on Android and his web later. MealMe is available in cities across the United States.
MealMe’s app works a little differently than FoodBoss. This app can find nearby restaurants or search for your desired restaurant. Tap on the restaurant of your choice to see different delivery options, including estimated delivery times, delivery charges, service charges, and other charges. The app also flags which delivery options are considered “best” or “fastest”. Add items to your order like you would in any other food delivery app by tapping the option you want. I will order when I finish ordering.
Which app should I use?
Both FoodBoss and MealMe partner with delivery services, so customers aren’t charged extra for using the app. They are purely aggregators, according to their respective founders. Which one you use depends on where you live, what devices you use, etc.
FoodBoss operates in fewer cities and has fewer delivery services to compare with, but provides more information regarding rates and delivery time estimates. It’s also available on more platforms.
MealMe is available in more cities and allows you to order groceries, but provides less information before being sent to the delivery app. iOS only at the moment.
