New York – It’s no secret that the social media app TikTok is one of the most popular platforms, with over 1 billion users.
Everyone seems to be on board, from celebrities to famous landmarks to even us at CBS2. However, it is not without controversy.
The platform has raised several major cybersecurity concerns across the country.
31 states have banned apps from all government devices, including New Jersey. New York has proposed legislation to do the same.
A federal bill banning the app from government devices goes into effect later this month.
So what is a threat and what does it mean for the average user? We spoke with Sherri Davidoff, cybersecurity expert and CEO of LMG Security.
