IHG One Rewards has announced a new promotion: get 15% savings on award stays. While 15% may sound appealing, there are some caveats to be aware of.
What Is the Promotional Offer?
IHG One Rewards is offering members 15% off on award stays. The discount will initially apply only to those with an eligible IHG credit card, but after January 11, 2024, it will also be available to noncardholders who have IHG Platinum Elite or Diamond Elite status.
Here are the terms of the promotion:
- You must make your booking by January 14, 2024
- You must stay by February 22, 2024
Additionally, you can only get the discount on stays of three nights. So while select IHG cardholders get a fourth night free, the perk cannot be combined with this promotion.
IHG offers Points & Cash bookings where members can pay for their stay using a mix of cash and points. These bookings are eligible for the promotion, but according to the terms, only the cash portion gets the discount. In practice, however, the discount seems to apply to the entirety.
