A render of a new device purporting to be the iPhone SE 4 has hit the internet, suggesting a major shift in Apple’s affordable smartphone line.
Jon Prosser, prolific YouTuber and credible Apple hawk merchant, provided Front Page Tech with some crisp renderings based on information provided by an anonymous source. They show a device that looks a lot like the 2018 iPhone XR.
There have been rumors for some time that Apple is ditching its current SE design, which mimics the old iPhone 8, in favor of one emulating the iPhone XR. In fact, even before the iPhone SE 3 hit the market. This latest info dump is displayed to confirm that.

If accurate, this means the iPhone SE 4 will increase the display size to 6.1 inches, the same size as the current iPhone 14. The Touch ID sensor that came with the iPhone SE 3.
It looks like Apple’s affordable phones will finally adopt the Face ID authentication system. Of course, it’s always possible that Apple will equip the iPhone SE 4 with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead (backed up by another rumor).
The back of the rendered phone shows a single camera, just like the iPhone XR. Don’t expect ultra-wide angles to be added to Apple’s budget phones.
These renders also suggest that the iPhone SE 4 will come in three colors: Midnight, Starlight and Product Red.
