CPI has partnered with Cellnex UK to launch a new 5G testbed in the North East. It tests transformative health and wellness technologies to meet future healthcare needs.
By bringing together hospital trusts, universities, and businesses, we can push the boundaries of manufacturing and apply Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to deliver HealthTech solutions to patients.
HealthTech’s Head of Business Strategy, Steven Bagshaw, explains:
“Advancements in healthcare and connectivity are improving the patient experience and level of care. We may improve the patient experience by providing and enabling patients to move around the hospital.
“Our new 5G testbed can lead the way in translating new technologies and turning innovative ideas into commercial enterprises. By taking the risk out of investing in them, the 5G testbed can also , enabling startups and companies to obtain funding for new projects.”
Development of next-generation medical devices
With 5G’s promise, connection speeds and new applications, potential developments such as telesurgery may no longer be a concept of the future. Wireless communications, flexible electronics, and manufacturing expertise make the next generation of medical devices more feasible.
A team of 50 staff working at the new 5G testbed facility will commit to developing and commercializing at least one project within 12 months to bring new healthcare solutions to market. I am aiming.
Stephen added: The testbed infrastructure will help connect new partnerships and enable new medical technologies. ”
CPI invites hospital trusts, digital technology providers, healthcare professionals and companies building new medical devices to join the launch and see the new 5G testbed facility in action.
Technology companies and healthcare providers interested in learning more about this collaboration are invited to get in touch and visit the testbed.
