Three Rockford business owners/community members have teamed up to provide cash to catch a shooting suspect outside a Rockford butcher shop.
William Jones was accused of shooting dead Peggy Anderson last month outside Pinon Meets, 2324 N. Court Street.
Frank Wehrstein of Dickerson Nieman Realtors, Kip of Crimson Ridge, and Jim Baker of PMI Aerospace teamed up to offer a $10,000 reward to individuals who provided information leading to Jones’ arrest.
“This is important as a local business owner and community member to show our support for other businesses in our community,” says Kip. “What happened at the Pinons was a senseless crime that resulted in the death of an innocent woman. We hope the reward incentives will lead to information leading to Jones’ arrest.”
Police said Jones robbed Anderson and took her belongings out of business on January 11.
