The US State Department has announced the appointment of Louis L. Bono as the new senior adviser to the Caucasus negotiations, reports Azernews.
“Today, we are announcing the appointment of Luis L. Bono as the new Senior Advisor to the Caucasus Negotiations. His efforts will advance our efforts on the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the South Caucasus,” said Antony.・Secretary of State Brinken tweeted.
Meanwhile, on January 5, 2023, the retirement of the last Caucasus Negotiations Senior Advisor was announced.
At a press conference, deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel stressed that the new official will lead US efforts to promote peace and stability in the Caucasus.
A spokesperson said Bono is a senior official in the department with extensive experience solving complex problems.
“He undertook this task and has earned the personal trust of Secretary Brinken and the US State Department. In particular, Brinken has had the opportunity to speak with leaders in Armenia and Azerbaijan. We will continue to do so,” said Patel.
