Valero is proud that 2022 was the best year ever for combined employee and contractor safety.
Valero closed the year strongly with the highest capacity utilization since 2018, with the refinery running at 97% capacity utilization, the highest since 2018.
Valero’s renewable diesel business set a new sales volume record in the fourth quarter with the launch of the company’s new Diamond Green Diesel (DGD) Port Arthur plant. The project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule, bringing DGD’s total annual capacity to 1.2 billion gallons of renewable diesel and 50 million gallons of renewable naphtha.
The company continues to invest in its refining business. Valero’s coker project in Port He Arthur, Texas is progressing well and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023. The project should increase refinery throughput and improve maintenance efficiency.
