AMES – The Iowa Pork Industry Center at Iowa State University is offering a Pork Quality Assurance Plus 5 Certification Session for Program Advisors on December 20th. The director said those interested should submit their applications immediately.
“People with expired certifications or who are first-time advisors should do in-person training like this virtual offering,” he said. “Potential participants should plan for a session of approximately six hours followed by an exam.”
Eligibility requirements are available on the two-page application form. This application is available both as a fillable PDF document and as a Word document from his PQA page on the IPIC website. Applicants can use either version. No individual spot is guaranteed until your application has been approved and your specific payment has been approved by IPIC. The cost is $85 per person and includes all materials and online access. The deadline is December 13th.
The session will begin at 10:00 am on December 20th, and connection information will be shared with approved applicants closer to that date.
Future PQA Advisor certification sessions will be scheduled based on industry and applicant needs, and application information will be shared as it becomes available.
