Wendy’s is adding holiday-themed Frosties to its menu for the first time.

In an exclusive interview with CNN Business, Carl Loredo, Wendy’s chief marketing officer, said, “People have been enjoying strawberry frosty so much that it’s important to look for another flavor and one that’s right for the holidays. “Peppermint is wonderful and perfect for the holiday season.”
Loredo declined to give specific sales numbers for Strawberry Frosty, only saying the chain has been “hugely successful” and wants to keep the momentum going.
“It’s an accelerated path, but it’s something we’ve been working on for several years,” he said. “[Peppermint] It was a consumer favorite flavor and was eventually commercialized. [was an aspect] We had to finish it quickly, but that’s what we had in mind. ”
Peppermint is also available That means vanilla flavors won’t be back for the rest of the year. As for what happens next, Loredo said he wouldn’t be surprised if Wendy’s added a new Frosty flavor in 2023.
Wendy’s doesn’t mix up Frosty flavors as often as McDonald’s (MCD) does with McFlurry’s lineup. In 2019, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary by adding a limited-time birthday cake, Frosty. Vanilla Frosty was added to the menu in 2006, and Strawberry was briefly introduced last year.
Seasonal food and drinks are usually a boon to fast food restaurants. Dunkin’ and Starbucks roll out holiday-themed drinks every year, and McDonald’s offers his annual promotion in December.
